Hey everyone, I'm a Director of Operations looking to jump to VP level this year. Salaries are high, but so are expectations — my current resume looks solid for mid-level, but feels flat for C-suite. Has anyone used executive resume writing services that actually understand board-level storytelling and P&L impact? Prices seem insane ($700–$2000+), but if it lands a $200K+ role it's worth it? Recommendations?

I went through this exact transition last year. Paid ~$895 for Resume Writing Lab's executive package — they assigned a writer who had been a former VP recruiter. Biggest wins: they reframed my "managed team of 50" into "drove $12M revenue growth through cross-functional leadership", added executive bio section, and optimized for ATS + LinkedIn. Got 4 interviews in 6 weeks, including one at Fortune 500. Worth every penny if you're targeting $150K+.

Seconding Resume Writing Lab — their executive tier includes consultation call + unlimited revisions. But if you want ultra-premium, check TopStack Resume or ResumeSpice — Forbes often ranks them #1 for C-suite. Prices start ~$699–$1200, but they include LinkedIn rewrite + interview coaching. My friend (CFO switch) used TopStack and landed $300K package.

Used CraftResumes executive package (~$850) — writer had actual C-level experience. They focused on quantifiable impact (ROI, transformations) instead of duties. Added metrics I forgot about. Callback rate jumped from 5% to 30%. Red flag: avoid generic services under $500 — they use templates and miss nuances of executive branding.

As ex-recruiter for exec roles: good executive resume writing services do 3 things right: 1) Tell a leadership narrative (not just jobs), 2) Use board-speak (strategic vision, stakeholder influence), 3) Optimize for executive search firms. Resume Writing Lab nailed all three for me when I switched internally. Avoid Fiverr for this level — too risky.

CraftResumes $750–$1100 Yes Strong Great value + revisions
TopStack Resume $800–$1500 Yes Excellent Top for C-suite storytelling
ResumeSpice $699–$1200 Yes Good Solid, Forbes-recommended
Generic cheap ones <$500 No Weak Avoid — templated

@Mandien thanks for the table! Adding one more: Find My Profession — they specialize in executive branding, ~$1200–$1800, but include video coaching. Friend used them for CEO transition — said the personal brand piece was game-changer.

Has anyone tried executive services with guarantee? Like "more interviews or money back"? Resume Writing Lab has 60-day callback guarantee — that gave me peace of mind when I paid.

For tech execs (CTO/VP Eng) — make sure they understand engineering leadership metrics (uptime, velocity, scaling). CraftResumes writer had ex-Google background — huge plus.

Pro tip: Ask for before/after samples specific to your industry before paying. Good executive resume services always show them. Bad ones dodge or send generic.
