Wow, thank you all for the incredible feedback! I had no idea my computer science resume had so many issues. I'm going to revise it completely based on your suggestions:
Move projects to page 1 and quantify results
Clean up the skills section and organize by proficiency
Add GitHub/portfolio links
Create a professional summary
Focus on problem-solving, not just technologies
Update the formatting to something more modern
@Counconect I didn't even consider ATS optimization - that might explain why I'm not getting responses.
Should I consider using a professional resume service like CraftResumes or Resume Writing Lab that some of you mentioned? Worth the investment?
@JobHunter2025 If you can afford it, a professional service that specializes in computer science resume writing can be worth it. When I was struggling like you, I used resumewritinglab.com and went from 0 callbacks to 5 interviews in two weeks. They understand both the technical aspects AND how to get past screening systems. Consider it an investment in your career - one good job offer will make the cost seem trivial.
@JobHunter2025 don't forget to customize ur computer science resume for each job! take keywords from the job posting and include them (if u actually know those things). different companies use different tech stacks and want different things. generic resume = generic results (or no results)
@Mandien That's impressive results! I think I'll try implementing everyone's suggestions first, and if I'm still not getting results in 2 weeks, I'll look into a professional service.
@chuedi0F Good point about customization - I've definitely been lazy on that front.
Thanks again everyone! I'll post an update when I've revamped my computer science resume and hopefully have some interviews to report!
