okay so i've been updating everything for my job search and hit a wall with LinkedIn. my resume is finally in good shape (used craftresumes.co, 10/10 recommend), but my LinkedIn profile is still a mess from like 2 years ago.question: does a linkedin profile writing service actually make a difference, or can i just copy-paste from my resume and call it done?i feel like LinkedIn is more "social" so maybe the tone should be different? but also i don't want to pay for something i can do myself in an afternoon. anyone used a proper linkedin profile writer or know if it's worth it?
@Shilpi do NOT just mirror your resume. i made that mistake and recruiters literally told me it felt robotic.LinkedIn has a completely different job than your resume:
Resume = gets you past ATS, lands the interview
LinkedIn = where recruiters find YOU proactively, where hiring managers check you after seeing your resume
the About section especially needs to sound like a human wrote it, not a bullet point machine. first person, actual personality, a bit of story.i used resumewritinglab.com for both resume + LinkedIn together. the LinkedIn writer asked me questions my resume writer never did — like "what do you want people to feel when they land on your profile?" that reframe alone changed everything.
